Welcome

I have written several short stories over a number of years and have been lucky enough to get quite a few published. On this site I have posted a (hopefully) eclectic selection of these stories. Perhaps you will take the time to read one, and maybe, just maybe, you will come back for more. In addition, if you are an aspiring writer, check out my How to Write Fiction series.

In the future, I will be writing new stories, re-editing older ones, then adding them to this site. The same goes for my series on how to write fiction. So, if you tap out my current collection, check back from time to time for new material. Oh, and feel free to give me your feedback. I am always interested in knowing why someone liked, or disliked, a story, and use that feedback to improve my writing.

Below are some of my favorite resources for getting feedback on drafts of my short stories and finding lit mags to submit them for publication. If you are an aspiring writer, you might find them useful.

Zoetrope An outstanding site for those interested in reviewing other authors' short stories and, in return, receiving reviews of their own submissions. It takes awhile to get the hang of the site, but if you work it right, you can get high quality feedback on your work. You have to set up a free account. I used this site extensively.

Duotrope's Digest For those looking to publish short stories, a good site to find a particular genré of a lit mag. Like all these sites, sometimes links don't work because the mag has gone the way of so many - to Lit Mag Heaven.

New Pages Good source of lit mags - gives you some basic info without having to go to the web site. I have found, however, that it is best to go to the site to make sure info is current, and to check out stories to see if yours will fit their style.

Council of Literary Magazines A very comprehensive list of lit mags with links to web sites.

Broadcast Images Need some commercial video shot by some real pros? Check out this link.
