Published Best Intentions The first story published! A tense plot about a suicide hotline. I will admit, however, that the structure of my writing has improved with more stories under my belt. Skyline Magazine, New Year edition, 2004 Surviving Madsons The first of two attempts at a humorous short story. Guys seem to like it, particularly less mature guys. Women, on the other hand - well, not so much. Closet Spirits My one and only "horror" story. Actually it is rather clever and creative, if I do say so. NEW! Pigs Get Fed A timely story of greed (clever greed, I might note) in our current age of seemingly limitless corruption in the business world. Scared Womanless My second attempt at humor. A man, turned timid by a previous marriage, has great difficulty overcoming his fear of talking to women. Somehow he gets lucky and finds a surprising way around the problem. NEW! Poormojo.com, Spring 2006 Small Town Heroes The lives of two boyhood friends who shared intimate moments take very different directions. They reunite as young men in their home town with tragic results. JMWW, Spring 2005 Wading in Brooklyn A subtle exploration of the pitfalls of hero worship Victory News, June 2006 Boy Interrupted The narrator is a young boy who yearns to experience a world outside his small Nebraska town, but fate enters and deals the dream a tragic blow. Damn good writing, I think. Perigee: A Publication of the Arts, July 2006 Welcome to the Global Community A fictional exploration of how preconceived notions, seeded and repeatedly reinforced by the media, can lead to fundamental mistakes - with tragic results. Salt River Review, Fall 2006 A Small Sin in Nuremberg A doctor, himself a victim of Auschwitz, must perform a psychiatric evaluation of a Nazi SS officer to determine if he is competent to stand before the Nuremberg Tribunal. Some may find a concentration camp story too bleak for their tastes, but I consider it the finest writing I have penned to date. Wanderings, Winter 2008
